A prince went for hunting. While chasing a deer he entered into a cave. The cave belonged to a group of thieves and they had a pet parrot. On spotting the prince the parrot cried "Ornaments. Precious and valuable stones. Attack and rob him off his valuables". The prince noticed the situation and turned back his horse and galloped back. The thieves chased but could not catch the prince and gave up the plan of attacking him. The prince and the tired horse stopped at an ashram. Nearing the ashram the prince overheard the voice of a parrot sitting on a branch. The prince tried to flee but the parrot said "Don't be afraid. This place is safe. You along with your horse can take rest, quench your thirst and have food". The prince saw some sadhus coming and told them his experience that day and the difference between the two parrots. The parrot at the ashram said "Can I clear your doubt? The other parrot since it was living with the thieves adopted their methods and means and as I was brought up in this ashram I am following good words and deeds. The place and environs will have an impact on leading life. Be good and do good to your people after you become a king."
